Just a quick update. As I sat at my house last night, I looked at the recent panels that I fiberglassed and realized, this has been a huge project. Not just the recent audio part, but the entire car overall. It has been pretty much 1 year to the day that this VR4 entered into the shop, stock. Now look at it. Trophies, awards...etc. Why am I writing this now? because I couldnt have done this without two people:
The first person is my Dad. I'd like to give my Dad some credit here because without having access to his shop, tools and of course expertise this project wouldnt even exist. My Dad is an Collison Repair Instructor at a local Technical High School, I think for about 20 years now. Prior to being an Instructor, he owned a shop in Salem, MA (for those that know Salem, you know what was the Fish Market right on Pickering Warf? That wasn't always a Fish market!). Growing up I wanted nothing to do with Auto Body, thats why I work in computers today, but being around Auto Body all my life, lets just say my Dad made this one of my best hobbies.
The other person, whom you've seen in pictures on the website, and I often joke about him, is my cousin, Bruce. I don't think i would be wrong in saying that Bruce is probably the best auto body guy in all of the North Shore, maybe New England as far as I am concerned. This project would not happen without him. He was responsible for the majority of painting the VR4 (I can only take credit for painting the engine bay and front lip). He did a majority of the repair work while I did most of the grunt work. I've learned so much from him that I continue to include him in everything that happens to this car. This car, when at a show, reflects him and his work just as much as it does me.
So yea, I think I do a pretty good job at letting these guys know how much they mean to me, but if I havent then consider this a big thank you. I'll speak to Bruce shortly and see if he wants me to advertise anything about him here, like where he works or something. If you want quality, this guy is it. Likewise, I'll talk to my Dad and see if I can advertise the school here.
