The VR4 took another trophy!
I know I need to get my site updated with new numbers, and the new dyno stuff (looking forward to the Pampena tune. I'll get the new numbers and stuff up soon)
Long story short.....at least I'll try to make it short.
Yesterday morning (Saturday 5/31/08) I took apart my throttle body (million pieces it seemed) to replace the shaft seals. Aparently the 3S's TB's always leak with stock seals, causing boost leaks. Mine were leaking a bit, so I replaced them. Took me a couple hours to get most of it done, but didnt have any silicon dielectirc grease for the new seals, so bought some. I got the TB about 75% complete before I gave up for the night, about 11pm.
I got inside the house and was just browsing the web and found a car show in Meriden, CT for 6/1/08 (today). I thought nothing of it cause my TB wasnt done. Gates open at 9am, judging 11am. I woke up around 6am and finished my TB, but didnt mark the TPS sensor so knew I would be playing with it for about an hour. I actually found a mark on the sensor that allowed me to line it back up like before.....started it up,....idled perfectly, ran amazing. It was about 7:15am now and said....."Ahhh to hell with it". Grabbed some cleaning supplies and such and made the 2 hour and 15 minute drive to Meriden, CT for the car show.
I didnt bring my camera, well, cause I just jumped in and went. I did get some pictures with my phone camera, check them out in the gallery. They awarded trophies for the Top 50 cars. I am glad the VR4 is getting some respect and attention after all the work I've been doing to it.
Decent amount of imports. Club CTSubie was there in large numbers. Great cars, and great people, had a blast talking to some of them. A bunch of domestic stuff also, Stangs were the most.
